Arkki program provides pupils the most essential 21st century skills through architecture and design education.

Arkki´s educational concept is unique in the world, enhancing the core capacities needed for future world of work. “I now see the world with new eyes”, commented a 12-year old Arkki pupil.

Architecture offers endless possibilities for STEAM education by holistically intertwining science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics through Architecture activities. Arkki program fosters hands-on building, creative problem solving and 3D construction. It aims to develop personal creativity and encourage individual and collaborative learning.

We at Arkki believe that architectural education gives children and young people the kind of knowledge and a broader understanding that enables them to take responsibility and to participate in the decision-making and building of our future environment.

PLAY – CREATE – SUCCEED!

Arkki’s Education Program is designed so that all students will succeed in applying new skills and knowledge, and learn new things with these uplifting emotions!
PLAY: The most natural way of learning, exploring new subjects and creating solutions. . Children learn best while playing: all information, knowledge and skills will be absorbed naturally and effectively.
CREATE: Generating multiple solutions for a problem from different angles, different directions, and different materials. Innovations and new ideas are promoted and different solutions encouraged, instead of providing ready made right answers.
SUCCEED: Arkki projects are designed in a way that fosters the pupil’s feeling of success. This positive reinforcement will help them to remember these skills and knowledge for life. In an encouraging environment the pupils also dare to take risks, which is essential for new innovations.

THE 4 P’S OF CREATIVE LEARNING

PROJECT: Children learn best when they are actively working on meaningful projects – generating new ideas, designing prototypes, refining iteratively.
PEERS: Learning flourishes as a social activity, with children sharing ideas, collaborating on projects, and building on one another’s work.
PASSION: When children work on projects they care about, they work longer and harder, persist in the face of challenges, and learn more in the process.
PLAY: Learning involves playful experimentation – trying new things, tinkering with materials, testing boundaries, taking risks, iterating again and again.
